· Recently, Basemof team was invited to attend the 28th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change in Dubai, gaving a company presentation in the Methane Investment Day.
· Zhao Ziying, General Manager of Basemof, delivered a keynote speech on MOF gas separation technology, focusing on the application of this technology to reduce pollution, mitigate carbon emissions and promote the utilization of methane resources.
The 28th Conference of the Parties (COP28) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) was held in Expo City Dubai, UAE, from November 30 to December 12, 2023, and was attended by more than 70,000 delegates, climate negotiators, and relevant participants from 197 countries.
During the conference, Basemof Clean Energy, as a representative of innovative technology enterprises in the oil and gas field, was invited to participate in the "Methane Investment Day" organized by OGCI Kunlun Climate Investment Fund and made a keynote speech.
The event invited nearly 100 leaders, experts and scholars from relevant ministries and commissions of China, Oil and Gas Climate Initiative (OGCI), international famous oil companies, Climate Investment (CI) and investment institutions, research institutions, etc., and focused on the current situation of methane emission reduction policy, technology and industry at home and abroad, and discussed in depth the opportunities and challenges of methane emission reduction investment for reference and reference to promote China's methane emission reduction. The conference focused on the policy, technology and industry status of methane emission reduction at home and abroad, discussed the opportunities and challenges of methane emission reduction investment, and provided reference and reference for promoting China's methane emission reduction. Mr. Xie Zhenhua, China's Special Envoy for Climate Change Affairs, and Bob Dietrich, Chairman of OGCI, attended the event and delivered speeches.
In the enterprise exhibition session, Mr. Zhao Ziying, Chairman and General Manager of Blue Shell Clean Energy, gave a keynote speech on MOFs gas separation technology in reducing pollution and carbon and promoting methane resource utilization. Mr. Zhao demonstrated the specific application of the enterprise's technical capability in the Xinjiang oilfield project, which is capable of realizing about 50,000 tons of carbon dioxide capture per year, with excellent performance in terms of separation efficiency and energy consumption indexes, marking that the internationally leading second-generation carbon capture technology has been commercially applied in China.
At the same time, the project can realize natural gas recovery of about 30 million cubic meters per year, actively practicing the oil and gas industry torch out action, in line with the national strategy of Methane Emission Control Action Plan. It is estimated that the demonstration project is expected to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by more than 100,000 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent per year, and the company's average annual emission reduction impact over the next five years will reach 350,000 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent.
Basemof Clean Energy is an innovative science and technology company with pioneering spirit in the oil and gas field. Its independent research and development of absorption and adsorption coupled gas separation technology based on MOFs (Metal Organic Framing Materials), as a second-generation carbon capture technology, can effectively promote the domestic CCUS industry to realize the low-energy consumption of carbon dioxide capture and utilization, and has demonstrated outstanding potentials in the separation of natural gas ethane, which provides an innovative scientific and technological solution for combating climate change.
In the context of COP28, Basemof Clean Energy Environmental Protection's promotion of the research, development and application of MOFs technology will help to achieve the goal of carbon neutrality and assist partners from various industries to move towards a more sustainable energy and industrial model. As Mr. Zhao mentioned in his speech, "Words are the leaves, actions are the fruits", we are deeply responsible in discussing the challenges of climate change with delegates from all over the world, and we hope to contribute to the building of a greener and more sustainable energy future through the cooperation of multiple platforms.
